Godhead

Great southern California punk from 1981 on Bemisbrain. The title track is definitely a standout but there isn't a dud on here in my opinion (of course it shouldn't be that difficult with a 3 song 7"). Cover scan comes from Collector Scum and that's all I know about it- short and sweet. Enjoy.

You got some interesting material here. Always thought this 7" was criminally overlooked (like MODERN WARFARE too who still don't get the recoginition they deserve). Keep up the diggin'!

Nice, I was justing looking for one of these on eBay and here it is. I love the Bemisbrain releases and had never heard this one before.

This comes from a burned copy 'cause I couldn't find one either. The "An American Punk In Suburbia" blog seems to have lots of SoCal punk with a few Bemisbrain releases. Growing up I relied on the few local record stores in the midwest so a lot of the stuff people have posted I've never even seen before except through tape trading.

Awesome!! Remember when you could go into your local record store and buy most anything (relativly speaking, of course -- 'most anything' usually meant l1 to 5 or 6 new singles a week, if that) and still have a pretty fair chance of it not sucking? Sometimes I check these Blogs and it reminds me a lot of those days. I'm not a very nostalgic person but thanks for at least making me feel like I've gotten my money's worth today (if not the great music that I hadn't previously heard!)

I have this & the followup single too (if my memory serves me). If you want I can rip them & slide the files over. I'll check later to see if there's more info on the singles too; I believe there were inserts but it's been a long long while since I pulled these out.

That would be awesome, didn't know there was another single.

Sorry; I was confusing them with Modern Warfare as far as the two-singles Bemisbrain thing goes. Here's a zip of higher res scans of the cover & insert though.

John Schaaf was in F-Troop or something, right?

Okay after a google search, yeah:

"Original punk from the LB area. After realizing that most bands sucked, we formed the original F-Troop during the hot summer of '81 with John Schaaf, Paul Reilly, and Gin Han in Schaaf's garage in Lakewood. We played a few gigs but realized we were going in the wrong direction. We then quickly reorganized with Roger (Circle Jerk) Rogerson. We played a shitload of small gigs, and played a few big ones with "famous" bands. We recorded for the compilation "You Can't Argue With Sucksess" with such notables as: Secret Hate, Crewd, etc...F-Troop then became THE band for local musicians to jam with...Randy (Pennywise), Reggie Hate, Scott Drummer Scott, Weasel, Mudd, Trey (Shortbus)... Grew up with the Falling Idols and TSOL hanging around the Lakewood Skatepark, the Stingers' and the Seal Beach jetty. Been in the Army since '85. Currently stationed at Camp Taji, Iraq. Getting ready to move to Camp Liberty, near Baghdad Intl Airport. I'm a VERY happy husband and dad. F-Troop recently recorded a 5 song cd with "For The Young", "Wild In The Streets", "Sonic Reducer", "New Rose", and "Bloodstains". Recently played at King Neptunes in Sunset to a full house. Current lineup is: Doc - Vocals / Chris Bradford - Guitar / Tyson Parrish - Bass / Mudd Fugly - Drums. You can listen to "For The Young" on F-Troop's MySpace site! (http://www.myspace.com/ftroop) Everyone...demand that LB Records release this stuff!! Don't let THE MAN keep you down! Also, everyone needs to keep bugging Tyson about the King Neptunes F-Troop video! "

Paul Reilly from GODHEAD went on to co-start the funny-punk band THE BOLSHEVIKS who released several seven-inchers on Dr. Strange Records and Damaged Goods Records (U.K.). They also recorded a full-length for Dr. Strange that was shelved and remains unreleased to today. I released one song by them, "Danny Quayle Uber Alles", after Jello Biafra refused to distribute their record through Mordam if it had that song on it. Paul Reilly's whereabouts are currently unknown, but we beleive that he is still in his hometown of Long Beach, CA.

Baquan Research in comparative mythology shows a linguistic correlation between Levantine Yaw and monotheistic Yahweh, suggesting that the god may in some manner be the predecessor in the sense of an evolving religion of Yahweh.
Elohim as "God" (with the plural suffix -im, but used with singular agreement); sometimes used to mean "gods" or apparently mortal judges.
The Holy Trinity (one God in three Persons, the God the Father, the God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Ghost/Holy Spirit) denotes God in almost all Christianity. Arab Christians will often also use "Allah" (the noun for "God" in Arabic) to refer to God.[citation needed]
Deus, cognate of the Greek ???? (theos, '(male) deity') is the Latin word for God, and will be used in Latin portions of Roman Catholic masses. [1]
God is called Igzi'abihier (lit. "Lord of the Universe") or Amlak (lit. the plural of mlk, "king" or "lord") in the Ethiopian Orthodox Church.
Jah is the name of God in the Rastafari movement, referring specifically to Haile Selassie I of Ethiopia.

Spiritual Substance, The second question that will be dealt with is the question of how knowledge is acquired. This area of epistemology covers what is called "the regress problem", issues concerning epistemic distinctions such as that between experience and apriority as means of creating knowledge and that between analysis and synthesis as means of proof, and debates such as the one between empiricists and rationalists.

With havin so much content and articles do you ever
run into any problems of plagorism or copyright violation?
My blog has a lot of unique content I've either created myself or outsourced but it seems a lot of it is popping it up all over the web without my agreement. Do you know any methods to help reduce content from being ripped off? I'd definitely appreciate it.
