Impatient Youth

Folks probably already know all about Impatient Youth from the posthumous Lost And Found releases, but if I'm not mistaken this 7" was their only official recording during their first go round (I think there was a reunion single). Also, I don't believe this 7" has ever been reissued but I could be wrong. I knew nothing about them before hearing Frontline so don't expect any more info here, just one hell of a catchy record that seems to be getting a little pricey these days. I think some of the tracks almost have a 1960s feel that I really like, especially "Don't Listen To The Radio" (my favorite) with its nice opening harmonies. From 1980 here's Definition Empty-

Working Girl
Wasted Life
Business Man

awesome release and thanks for posting it. I disagree with the other comment. (Impatient) Youth were one of the better SF Punk bands during the late 70's early 80's. Along with The Tools, Los Olvidados (actually a San Jose band!!!, and others, they showed that you can be melodic and write powerful songs. Great post. Oh and yes they did release an EP on Lost And Found in the 90's and it is pretty good too.

Class band, I always thought they sounded like the Dils a little. The LP that came out on Lost and Found about 14 years ago was great, even if that label isn't so! Not for Hardcore heads tho', they won't get it.....

I went to almost every Impatient youth at Mabuhay Gardens from late 1978-79, I was on the guest list. Saw them open for the Mutants, Dead Kennedys..., Impatient Youth Rocked!!, I was on a swim team with the lead singer, the band was actually all from Vallejo Ca, and I grew up with those boys, Later they morphed into a band called The Woundz, saw them at the Dew Drop In, in Berkley Ca. late 1979, they opened for Flipper, before Flipper went on we had to breakup the fight between two of the band memebers finally they on and all bloody mouthed they rocked in fine Flipper style. Later that year we all went to a Movie theater in Oakland I think and walked right through without tickets, the lead singer of Flipper told the guy taking tickets that if he said anything we would tear his face off, he let us in and we smoked joints to the midnight showing of Quadraphinia,(bad spelling sorry)
But I would Love to know if you guys are still out there?
Also a Word out there for the Mutants, I loved you gal and guys, went to all your shows, those were really the best shows at Mabuhay Gardens, (outside of the Dead Kennedys shows) really fucking fun and sweaty I remember half the crowd being on the stage by the end of the set, Thank You all for providing me with the best years of my life!!!! Love Ya Tim Young
