Spastic Rats

This Maryland act released one 7" on Vermin Scum and had a track on the previously posted Welcome To Ax/ction Island compilation. That's all I know about them. The first side of this single was recorded in 1984 and has a more straight ahead hardcore sound while side two is from '85 and has a "posthardcore (or insert your own lame music critic term)" feel to it. Unfortunately the music suffers from a fairly weak recording in my opinion but it's still a solid single. Here's 1985's Rodentia 7"-
Point Of No Return
Homelife
Snap Judgement
Stand Alone
Just A Man
Living Dead
....and by the way, what do these guys have against Yahtzee?

I knew these guys - bought the 7" straight off the drummer and he put out a compilation tape of Southern Maryland bands long before anyone heard of Good Charlotte.

Ken Hill, the drummer, later went on to play with The Hated...which featured Dan Littleton, now of Ida.

Wow, Can`t believe anyone actually remembers us. I was one of the founding rats. Richard. me, Kenny Hill
Greg Sp8 & Tristan Lenz started the rats in kenny`s attic. It was great time in annapolis for music!
This 7" was really the end of the bands life. Everyone of us went on to other stuff but its great to see it still lives on.
Thanks guys!

God I love the internet! Grew up in Bay Ridge, going to St Johns to see the Hated, hanging out at Bumper's and going to the record and tape exchange. I wish this was all still around...went to school with Danny (Hated) little brother Mike.

Anyone have anything on "hundredth monkey?" they had to change their name to something else I just can't remember what it was... " _____ jones?"

Crab-core lives on!

Hundreth Monkey changed their name to Moss Icon - I used to live in the same neighborhood as Mark Laurence, the drummer for Hundreth Monkey/Moss Icon...

I was just listening to the 7" up here in Canada. A friend bought it after a favourable Max RNR review. Excellent record.
