Ax/ction Island

I'm going to toss out a quick and easy one tonight. Strange Reaction recently featured posts on The Stupids and Psycho and it reminded me of this compilation 7" which features both bands. In addition GG Allin, Cancerous Growth, Mystic mainstays PTL Klub, and The Scam all turn in good tracks. For my $$$, however, I think Spastic Rats turn in the best tune here- solid powerful hardcore.

Delusionary Tactics (cancerous growth)
We Suck (stupids)
I Wanna Suck Your Cunt (gg allin)
Animal (psycho)
Incite To Violence (spastic rats)
Constitutional Monarchy (ptl klub)
Wasted Time (the scam)

That GG song just never quite seemed to fit that record.

The Devil Dogs changed the G.G. song to Ball Me Out.

I agree with your comment about the GG song. I never understood his allure for some folks. My own GG experience-
My friend was supposed to bring him to town but he said he didn't have a band together at the time and told him to put some folks together and learn whatever songs they wanted. Apparently he was touring by taking a Greyhound by himself. My friend decided the band I was in with him would become GG's backup band for the night which made me a little nervous (at least it wasn't on Halloween night). Well, my friend was mad at his girlfriend so he gave GG her phone number and he called her house and talked about killing her parents, raping her, etc. Supposedly the cops got involved and he decided not to come and play. I can't really confirm the truth of the story beyond the fact that I had to learn "Hard Candy Cock" or some other such songs for what turned out to be no reason at all.

I knew the Spastic Rats, they were part of the bunch that hung out in Baltimore (they were from Anapolis MD). They put out a great tape.

I'll post their 7" next, don't know anything about a tape.

Um, it was a compilation tape of Southern Maryland bands. Included Christ on a Crutch (very early) and others.

Cancerous Growth = severely underrated band!

I believe Ball Me Out is a DMZ song, making GG the one that changed the lyrics.

Thanks for posting this!
All that Ax/ction stuff brings back memories, the days when you could send a stamp and two bucks and get a cassette and a gang of stickers and shit, ya know?

Hey, if you got that BULGE - "We Are Bulge" ep would you post it?

I still have fond memories of Charlie Infection (Psycho/Cancerous Growth/Axction) showing up at the grocery store I was working at and seeing him doing whip-its.

I used to sing for the Scam and I remember when this came out. 3,000 copies and I helped fold and bag them. Twenty years ago...wow.
