Zany Guys

Normally there's two things I don't like in my punk/hardcore. The first is too much goofiness. Sure bands like Angry Samoans can get away with it but usually it's just not my thing. Second is when a punk band does their take on some other genre, be it country, blues, rap, etc. With these things in mind there should be no reason I would enjoy the Zany Guys' Party Hits Vol. 2 but I do, and you may as well. This 7" was released on Placebo @1983 and contains 4 tracks of sunbaked Phoenix hardcore-
Little Tuff Kid
Hardcore
Paperboy Blues
Mr. Ackers

a personal fave. "hardcore" remains one of the unsung classics of the genre.

Aren't these the guys who had an album that was a cartoon of a guy sitting on top of a bomb and in the motion of hammering it at the tip? Dude, if these are they, then I would love to hear it.

Anyone got it?

I bought my copy in Newark, Delaware back in '84. Thanks to this page, I got it off the shelf, set the player on 45 and it still makes me smile. Genuine with no pretentions (sic). Did anyone else notice the guy wearing a Zany Guys shirt in the movie "Thrashin?'

This 45 is great! After finding this page I pulled it off the shelf (with a fistful of others) and, yeah, 1984 comes back. Almost. I picked this up in Newark, Delaware back then. Does anyone remember the guy wearing the Zany Guys shirt in "Thrashin?"
