Society Dog

When Johnithin Christ sings "never since I had sung with my very first band had I ever been so scared" in Code Of Honor's Downtown maybe he's talking about his previous band, San Francisco's Society Dog. As far as I know this is his first recorded act and they released two 7"s and a compilation track. They also featured Joe Dirt from the Undead on guitar. I thought some ass had markered on my copy until I saw some scans of other ones that also had the band name hand colored.
Here's the Off Of The Leash 7" from 1981-
How Could I Feel It
The Baby Is Dead
Metropolitan Rush
On The Street

Have to agree with you there. I still need to hear the Working Class People 7", but other than that I think I have everything else he's done. Did he do anything after Code of Honor?

That's funny that they stole the album picture from someone else (DKs) who (I think) stole it from someone else.

Indeed, it's "Starving Karamoja Boy and Missionary" by Michael Wells taken @1980.

did they steal it or did the dk's steal it, because if this is from '81, PSD is from '82

a friend of mine made me a cdr with a Society Dog album called "Opus Lupus". its society dog songs from both 7"s the comp 7" and a bunch wich i assume were never recorded. the production sounds nothing like anything that came out of the 80's. and Jonithin's vocals sound really raspy. does anyone have any info about "opus lupus"? my guess is that it was done after society dog split up.

Opus Lupus is a much newer record and I don't think its Jonithin singing on it, although I've never heard it.

for the record, i took the picture from time magazine, then jello asked me if he could use it, i told him i used it without permission, have at it. after coh i released some material with deadline screamer (late 80's) then morphius in the early 90's. it is great reading these comments about coh and society dog. i should have logged on long ago.
